The Sopot pier is the most protruding facility of this type into the sea in Europe.
Although initially the pier was only 31.5 m long and was foldable on land, after structural changes it was made permanent and extended in 1910 to 150 m.
After another reconstruction in 1928, they were extended to their current state.The current total length of the pier with lower decks is 515 meters.
